THE STORY OF MARSHMALLOW ROOT
The Marshmallow Root used in Activating Water Essence+ begins its journey on our farm in the pristine Adelaide Hills. Our biodynamic** practices ensure that we nurture the plant in a way that respects the environment and the integrity of the ingredient itself. We use two methods to extract the full benefits of Marshmallow Root: Bio-Intrinsic™ extraction and maceration.
Bio-Intrinsic™ extraction is a meticulous process that begins with distillation, where the dried Marshmallow Root is steamed to release its delicate essential oils and nutrients. This is followed by percolation, where a liquid solvent is circulated through the root to draw out water-soluble compounds. Finally, the process concludes with ashing, where the remaining plant material is burned to extract essential minerals, ensures that every beneficial part of the Marshmallow Root is extracted and infused into our skincare.
We also utilise maceration, where the dried root is soaked in purified water and glycerine for three days. This method allows us to draw out the full hydrating potential of the root, making Activating Water Essence+ even more effective.
