The Art of Nurturing with Lakkari Pitt
This Mother's Day, we are celebrating the women who have nurtured and supported us on our journey through a collaboration with Australian artist Lakkari Pitt. Inspired by Country and the deep connections between women, her artwork beautifully reflects the strength, nurturing care and wisdom that mothers and mother figures share with us. Meet the Artist Lakkari Pitt is a proud Gamilaroi Ularoi woman from Walgett in New South Wales, whose work draws on ancestral ties to Country and the stories passed down throughout generations. She is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work spans acrylic on canvas, digital design, ceramics and installation. In 2024, she launched Lakkari Design, a bespoke stationery design service that creates unique, personalised graphics for events and special occasions. The Inspiration Behind the Artwork Her Mother’s Day artwork is a visual story of nurture, connection, and love passed through generations. It represents yinarr (women) and miyay (girls) gathering, surrounded by Country. The design features a central meeting place, marked by a burst of connection that occurs when women come together to nurture, guide, and grow alongside one another.
